Hammered Arts and Crafts Billiards Pool Table Light, ca 1910 #2360 RESTORED, Ready to Install
We love this amazing light! So many great details to admire from the hammered original texture to the slumped slag glass panels in the "beanie" lanterns. We attribute this fixture to Gaumer of Philadelphia based on the style and construction methods, print ads, and other fixtures attributed to them we've seen or had in the past. This light found this completely covered in a thick layer of rust but some with careful restoration we were able to find the original bronze plating once we removed the corrosion. We've restored what we think it originally looked like with a dark brown patina and lacquer topcoat. The 2 missing opalescent "slag" glass pieces have been replaced; held in place with solid cast bronze frames inside the lanterns. This amazing light probably also once has a glass bead or brass chain fringe around the bottom of each lanterns, as there is a groove that was typically used when attaching a bracket to hold the fringe. We can replace it if you desire, but we found no remnants of the fringe itself.
7” diameter two piece canopy. 64” long, 18” wide, 29” tall.
Heavy at 50 pounds, and would more easily ship in two boxes. Attaching the lantern bodies after installation would be required.
