Art Deco Permanent Wave Machine Floor Lamp, Restored Antique

Art Deco Permanent Wave Machine Floor Lamp, Restored Antique - Filament Vintage Lighting

Art Deco Permanent Wave Machine Floor Lamp, Restored Antique

Regular price $2,999.00

In the 1920s, the permanent wave was all the rage in women's hair, and this is an original machine that provided the wave pattern in ladies hair.  We've done an exhaustive restoration including new nickel plating, polishing, and new period-correct wrinkle paint.  We replaced the worn out casters, so you can wheel it around your space!  Hair clips can be plugged in any configuration.  Clips no longer heat up for safety.  Upper halo can be raised and lowered and locked into place, just as the original machine did.  All new wiring but plugs and sockets are all restored originals.  We include vintage style Edison bulbs, with a decorative filament meant to mimic locks of hair.   Also included are photos to show the as-found condition--rusty, peeling nickel, loss of paint.

Pickup or  delivery in Los Angeles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: HOW CAN I CONTACT YOU?

A:  We prefer contact via email, but if you'd like to call here's our number:  206 819 6042

Q: YOU ARE LISTED IN BOTH LOS ANGELES AND SEATTLE?

A:  We started in Seattle but are now primarily based in Los Angeles.    Items ship from both locations, depending on were it's on display.

Q: DO YOU BUY PARTIAL FIXTURES AND PARTS, OR JUST COMPLETE FIXTURES?

A: Of course we'll take a look at anything you are looking at selling, whether single shades or complete fixtures.  You might have the last piece to a puzzle we need!  It's rare that we're interested in items made after WWII.

Q: DO YOU RESTORE CLIENT'S FIXTURES?  WHAT ABOUT REPAIR?

A:  Yes.  Restoration means different things depending on what each project needs.  Sometimes it's cleaning and rewiring, other times (too often) it's refinishing completely.  Yes, we can repair most things, from a simple rewiring a modern lamp to a plate and polish an antique chandelier.   Cost varies depending on scope of project.
